The problem here is that you never know what the search engine will give you until you submit your search and look at the results. Yahoo! Instant Search changes all that by showing you the single most important result for your search, instantly.
To do this, we have incorporated the power of Yahoo! Shortcuts into Yahoo! Instant Search. This means that in many cases we can give you more than just an instant result -- we can give you instant facts and answers. You may find what you're looking for without even going to the results page!
But it doesn't stop there. Instant Search has memorized many of the most popular Web searches and knows when you're typing one in. In these cases, we can instantly provide you with the #1 result for that search, since chances are pretty good that's what you're looking for.
How many times have you arrived at the search results page only to realize that you have accidentally misspelled your search? Instant Search makes it easier: select misspellings are automatically detected and the suggested corrections are displayed right below the search box. Just click and continue typing!
Back to TopSimply start searching. As you type, watch the space below the search box, and look for a "bubble" to appear containing relevant information.
When these results appear, you can read them, click on them... or just ignore them and continue! Remember, the search results page you know and love is still just a click away.
And here's a little secret trick for those of you are always looking for new ways to do things: hitting Control-Enter will automatically select the primary link in the current Instant Search result. This enables you to instantly navigate without ever taking your hands off the keyboard!

We look at things like your typing speed and spaces between search words to help us figure out when to ask Yahoo! Search for a result. After a lot of behind-the-scenes processing, we then provide you with the most relevant result based on what you have typed.
As you continue to type, giving us more information with each letter and word, we update these results in real-time.
