Buddy Guy, the guru of the electric guitar, is also the owner of this groovy club. Buddy Guy's Legends recreates the grungy feel of blues dives during the days when blues was just becoming popular. A favorite part of this bar is the hall of fame, a wall that has some of the greatest musical mementos in the city, like Grammy Awards of Muddy Waters and Buddy Guy as well as the greatest of all mementos, the collection of guitars belonging to BB King and John Lee Hooker. Therefore, this joint is much more than just a place to hang out and drink, it is a way of life, surrounded by the sweet sound of the blues and jazz. So if you're into music then this may just become your favorite watering hole!... less

The beer and food were terrible but we didn't care because the music was so amazing. Worth a visit just to enjoy the atmosphere. Don't order too much.

He might be 89, but his voice is still great and he's not bad on the guitar either. The food was basic with lots of cajun choices but tasty, portions are really large so don't order too much! All the staff were fine, so I'm not sure why some of the previous reviewers had problems... less

He told us that it was a standing area and they could not be sitting. While we were trying to understand what had just happened, I looked around to face the fellow and I saw him laughing behind us, pointing to us, mocking us, for whatever reason.Me and my wife went to the front of the bar and asked for a complaints book, and we were told that there was none in that establishment. We told what had just happened and got a blank stare back.I saw the fellow again and went up to him and politely asked him his name. The fellow shouted at me to get out of his face and that he would not tell me his name.I asked him why he was speaking to me like that and he asked me if I wanted to take it outside. While I was still not believing how he could be behaving in such a childish way, he told me that the was the manager. At this point, the staff member which I had previously tried to complained to, seeing that the fellow was shouting to me, tried to offer us two chair at the back, away from the stage and from everybody else, which I refused promptly. I asked her the name of the fellow and told her (still barely believing it) that he had said to be the manager. She confirmed that he was indeed the manager and told me that his name was One, Huan or Juan.At this point we left the bar.We have payed tickets to go to Buddy Guy's legends over 4 weeks ago, online, looking forward for this trip to Chicago, but we did not even stay for the music.I find it incredibly unprofessional and rude the way that we were treated and I could see that the other members of staff were also uncomfortable with that fellow.A quick look at the comments and I can see that this is not the first time that this has happened.I will try to figure out the best way to file a customer complaint and I strongly advise against going to this place. I is unfortunate that an older gentleman of Blues could have his name associated with the kind of unprofessional behavior that this manager showed to us.... less
