The Chicago Blackhawks moved into the newly done United Center in time for the 1994-1995 season. The United Center features the ultimate in fan entertainment and comfort. Some of the new amenities include an eight sided video replay scoreboard, theater-style seats, 46 permanent concession stands, a cocktail lounge, interactive concourse displays, and more. Fan convenience and accessibility are also key features at the United Center, a 960,000 square foot multipurpose facility that accommodates 20,500 for hockey, 21,500 for basketball, and up to 23,500 for concerts and other entertainment. Busted up here with a group from the Old Chicago in Peoria. First time to a home Black Hawk game. This place is huge. Had a great time.

We went to game when doors opened 2 hours before the game. To our surprise gave out tank style Bulls’ jerseys to first so many in door! I’m sure promotions vary. Going early gives chance to take photos with MJ’s statue (now indoors), 6 championship trophies in glass case, make signs for cheering, Few balloon stations staff making bull horns to wear, opportunities to “donate” to charities spinning wheel or buying used players’ gear, 50/50 drawing and possible autograph depending on location. Variety of food. Suggestion: walk by several food places before selecting. No matter how good nachos sound- AVOID them. They are lame & sauce crummy. I threw away most. Spend $5 somewhere else!... less

We'd been for brunch at Au Cheval before game and decided to walk to the Centre, it was 40 mins or so but added to experience as bars got progressively busier with Hawks fans the closer we got which added to the experience. If you're in Chicago it's definitely worth trying to get along to a game.... less

The official store is great (expected some post Christmas sales but no joy) and the Michael Jordan statue is fantastic. Arriving early meant we got some great photos by it whereas 20/30 minutes later the place was packed. Inside there was a load of great activities to do and things taking place. For example there’s an interactive section where you can commentate on previous games, have photographs taken and superimposed next to players, meet the cheerleaders and a number of stalls giving away free items (I got a free power pack for my iPad/iPhone, Bulls stickers and badges and free selfie sticks.) Once inside the atmosphere was electric particularly as the Bulls, who had trailed right up until the final minutes of the fourth quarter, went on to win the game by 5 points. Afterwards we managed to blag our way down to courtside and for our photo taken on centre court. The best advice I can give for this it to act like you belong there! The place is fantastic and well worth a visit, particularly if the Bulls are at home!... less
