Oaxacan Turkey Burgers With Chipotle Salsa
    Food.com
Although you will not find these turkey burgers at a local cantina in Oaxaca, I can vouch that they certainly did conjure up fond memories of the flavors in dishes I ate on some of my many journeys to Oaxaca. I could even imagine these burgers served at one of the open air market’s concessions. I tip my hat once again to Steven Raichlen, my grilling hero, for yet another impressively creative and delicious burger. Minus some personal modifications to the recipe, this is the recipe that appeared in Burger. Make Ahead: The salsa makes about 2 cups and can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator in a sealed container for 2 days. Beer Recommendation: A rich malty, roasty beer that absorbs the heat and provides a great counterpart to chipotles and grilled meat is a good choice to pair with these burgers. If you happen to find a Noche Buena, a great dark beer from Mexico, this would be my first choice. Second would be Negra Modelo, a slightly sweet brew with some fruitiness, it's malty for a Mexican beer and goes well with chipotles.

These turkey burgers are super versatile! Serve on buns with all of the classic fixings, or sub in your own favorite flavors (sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, and feta, anyone?). They also keep well in the fridge or freezer–make a double batch to keep on hand for easy protein to add to any meal!

My favorite recipe for turkey burgers. Just enough seasonings to make them so much tastier than just plain old turkey burgers, plus the bread crumbs and other added ingredients "bulk up" the turkey, helping you to get more bang for your buck. I always have a few of these in the freezer for summer barbecues when I don't care to eat beef hamburgers (I have been known to tote one or two of these along with me to family barbecues to throw on the grill whenever I know that beef burgers are going to be the only main dish)

Celery and blue cheese dressing help tame the hot sauce on this turkey burger recipe. For an even lighter version, pass on the buns and serve the burgers with lettuce leaves, sliced onion and chopped tomato. —Mary Pax-Shipley, Bend, Oregon

In this healthy turkey burger recipe, lean ground turkey stands in for ground beef, and mushrooms are added to produce a thick and uncommonly juicy, flavorful turkey burger. An easy, lightened mayo sauce provides the perfect accent.

This turkey burger recipe is the best. After making them the first time my husband said "no more" to beef burgers. These are full of flavor — any cooking method may be used, and they freeze very well. The recipe can also be used for meatballs or meatloaves.

Whether you've been searching for the best turkey burger, need to use up the ground turkey lurking in your freezer, or are simply tired of beef burgers, boy, do we have the recipe for you. Gone are the days of boring, dry, and lacking-in-flavor turkey burgers thanks to this 5-star creation.

The good news is that making turkey burgers from scratch is quite easy. All you need is ground turkey, onion, bread crumbs, eggs, and some seasonings and you're good to go.

Simply combine your ground turkey, diced onion, bread crumbs, egg whites, garlic, parsley, salt, and ground pepper in a bowl. We recommend sticking with ground turkey that's about 93% lean or less — any leaner than that and your burger might fall apart.

The turkey burgers are cooked in a skillet on the stove in this recipe, but you can also cook turkey burgers on the grill, in the oven, and in the air fryer. Turkey burgers should be cooked until their internal temperature is at least 165 degrees F.

Heat oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties in the skillet, turning once, about 15 minutes.

Lightly oil and preheat the grill. Place turkey burgers on the grill, turning once, about 10 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the patties on the baking sheet and bake for about 15 minutes.

Just like a beef hamburger, turkey burger toppings are all up to you. You can be as creative or plain as you like.

Some common toppings include lettuce, tomato, cheese, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and pickles. Or you can try something beyond the basic toppings and add jalapeños if you want a kick, guacamole if you want something Mexican-inspired, or an egg if you're going for a breakfast-for-dinner vibe.

"These are great! I used seasoned salt instead of regular salt, but other than that followed the recipe. They do freeze well as I made some and froze them for later meals and they came out fine," says

"These burgers were scrumptious! I'd take them any day over regular hamburgers! served them topped with lettuce, red onion, ketchup, and mustard, and they were so flavorful and juicy," raves one community member.
