Overall the experience is terrible, some of the bad reviews I read played out for our stay.First the check in- The employee at the front desk was the least friendly I have experienced in a while. After handing my ID and credit card she handed me the written list of rules, and room keys. I asked about breakfast and was referred to the printed rules. It was obvious I needed to read the rules and not ask questions. The highlight of our stay was the trip upstairs with Danny the bellman/ shuttle driver Danny,. Danny was super friendly and very helpful, not just in this instance, but all weekend. He was exceptional. The rooms need updating. When we arrived the bathroom sink was clogged (fixed the next day), my daughter could not shut the bedroom door on her own because it is so out of plumb, the paint on the bathroom ceiling was peeling, and the air conditioner had a rattle that will drive you crazy at 3AM. The mattress was from another era. Not sure how long Hilton allows properties to keep their mattresses, but this one was past its expiration date. The food service was real low point of the stay. There were several volleyball teams staying at the hotel and most of them had to be at the convention center at 8AM. The printed rules say breakfast is served at 7:30AM. My daughter tried to get a muffin at 7:15AM and was yelled at by the breakfast staff that the buffet did not open until 7:30 and she needed to leave. I went to front desk and asked for a manger who happened to be there. When I explained the situation she said "she had already had several requests but the food service was independently owned and managed so there was nothing she could do, About this time the foodservice manager came to tell the manager that they were not opening until 7:30 and that was final. Guests don't care who owns the foodservice. This was very disappointing for all the guests that were staying at the hotel for the volleyball tournament. Overall the facility needs to be updated, the staff with the exception of Danny were not helpful and really not that friendly. The foodservice was horrible. I would not recommend this hotel and I hope Hilton does a review of this property soon.... less
