Kingston Mines is one of the oldest and best blues clubs in town. As you listen to the likes of Jimmy Johnson, Eddie C. Campbell and Billy Branch, you can also eat a variety of Southern-style food from the kitchen. And, if you cannot wait for the next band to start, you just have to cross rooms to the second stage where another band is sure to already be underway. By evening's end, the rowdy crowd sometimes has a hard time navigating from room to room, but that's all part of the down-to-earth atmosphere in a club that encourages its clientèle to be as loud and rambunctious as it pleases.... less

Bands were great. Mike wheeler band and Nora Jean Bruso. Food was also very good. Jumbo prawns and fries. Overall a brilliant night.Unlike some of the other bigger venues I felt that the music was the priority and whole experience left me feeling really happy and enthused for blues music. I will definitely return.... less

Without any doubt, the quality of the players and the shows are outstanding. Traditional and genuine Blues. Congrats to the house for maintaining the same high quality standard. A must visit in Chicago for the Blues lovers.... less

It seems like a hodgepodge of kitsch thrown together and plunked right down in the blues. It has a dive bar feel to it, which isn’t bad, but it doesn’t quite pull it off. Part of it could’ve been the band that night. They weren’t that impressive and seemed off of their game. I might go back if the band was better.... less
