Nice hotel under the Marriott group, great service. If you visit Discovery Cove, remember to ask for a photo discount coupon from the onsite dedicated sales desk. This is one of the official hotel for Discovery Cove. There're several dining outlets on the ground level of the hotel. The outdoor heated swimming pool and the jacuzzi is indeed a bonus, especially during winter time at night. The table tennis/ping pong and American pool/snooker activities also offer additional exercise options. Daily resort fee + taxes is additional and no free overnight parking.... less

While I have full understanding that the hotel will close the restaurants early and therefore also any room service under these extraordinary circumstances, the least they could do was to inform their guests. We had to find out when we relied on the service, that it was missing. The best the receptionist could do was to provide a telephone number to a local pizzeria that had more than 1 hour wait on deliveries. So it appears that they didn't have a backup plan for their guests either. When I told reception about the lack of communication (not that they had closed, mind you, but simply that they hadn't communicated this), he flat out denied that they hadn't told us, waiving some card in my face that I had never seen. While they were quick to stick a note under the door asking for credit card details, it seems too much to slip a note under the door, detailing the reduced service at the hotel due to special circumstances. Finally, the cleaning of the room was awful. We found a fingernail (fake one, I hope) on the floor when we checked in. It is still there, 7 days later.... less

Big plus is the pool is all ours. That being said they are clearly reacting based on the low vacancy and cutting services. The kids pool/water slides are not open. The palm restaurant near the pool is closed. We got dressed to go for dinner and the restaurant is now closed. When we talked to the front desk is was just a sorry with a shoulder shrug. Ppl were bringing takeout in to eat in the restaurant. The pub is open with a limited menu. Lots of places around to eat so lucky in that regard. I get the place is quite empty but we paid the regular rate so should expect somethings to be open. To be fair the Starbucks is open. I would pass on this place till the virus is over as they do not appear to be open for business at the moment and do not seem interested in pleasing the people that did still choose to stay there. To bad as it is a lovely place.... less

The staff at the pool bar were so helpful and friendly and really made this work trip feel like a vacation! The pool and two hot tubs were clean with lots of comfortable seating. The kids splash park looked fun, although we were not traveling with young families. Although this is a big hotel it did not feel busy or crazy filled with too many kids. The food at my conference was delicious and the wait staff also super friendly. Parking at the hotel is ridiculously expensive but we felt we needed a car - I wish the self park wasn't $28/day - ugh. But if that's my only complaint I guess we have it pretty good!... less
