Our innovative program is an essential complement to medical care, providing networking and support groups, workshops, education and social activities. Since 2001, Gilda's Club Westchester has offered support for people whose lives have been touched by cancer...all types of cancer. It's a warm, inviting place where everyone can come together to share their experiences. Free of charge and non profit, Gilda's Club Westchester offers networking and support groups, lectures and workshops, and social activities in a nonresidential, yet home like setting. You won't find medical care here. Here is where you, your family and friends will find emotional and social support as a supplement to medical care. Here is where support, information, fellowship, laughter and understanding meet. All for FREE! Gilda's Club Westchester is a local affiliate of Gilda's Club Worldwide. The first Gilda's Club opened in 1995 in honor of comedian Gilda Radner. Her dream was for everyone living with cancer, and their families and friends, to have a place where they could receive both emotional and social support. Gilda's Club Westchester opened its signature red doors in White Plains in 2001. There are now 22 local clubs throughout the U.S. and Canada with eight more in development. Gilda's Club Westchester is located at 80 Maple Avenue ( entrance on Chester Avenue ) in the center of White Plains, NY. It is accessible by public transportation and close to all major parkways.
