MoreJackson Homestead and Museum is a historic museum ideal for kids and adults who love history. A wonderful museum that nicely preserves a part of the Newton's history. The main floor explains about the background of the owners and their involvement during the abolition period and the underground railroads of the 18th century. The lower level of the museum is nicely decorated with artifacts and informative exhibits. The upper floor consists of flags from the civil war period, envelopes of that era and the clothing worn during that period. There is a lovely gift shop that has a variety of souvenirs for visitors to purchase. Less

  Drove from NH after checking on Web site that this would be open on Saturday. It wasn’t. No one answered bell or phone. Guess it’s by appointment only. More

  One of the few places I have ever seen physical evidence the Underground Railroad. The house is nice but that feature makes it particularly special. It's a very quick visit. More
