MoreThe museum is dedicated towards the preservation of the historical site, where the Ingalls family lived from 1869-1871, and focuses on the history related to the Ingalls family, and literary works of Laura Ingalls Wilder. On exhibit is a one room replica cabin that recreates the living conditions of the Ingalls family during the years 1869-1871, a one room schoolhouse built in 1871, and historic post office built in 1885. Also, on display is a hand dug well that Charles Ingalls dug for his family on this historic property. There is a gift shop with lots of merchandise, do buy something as it helps in the upkeep of the museum. Finally, If you are interested in history, then it’s totally worth a visit. Less
