MoreAlternate Reality first opened its doors in Chicago's Mt.Greenwood neighborhood on August 20th, 1994 in our original 800 square foot 107th and Pulaski location. In December of 1996 we doubled our size when we moved to our current 3149 West 111th Street location in the "Heart of beautiful Downtown Mt.Greenwood". Then in August 2001 we doubled our size again to 3200 square feet when we tore down the walls and expanded next door into 3147. From the start we have always strived to give our customers the best service, selection and savings of any other comic/pop culture store in Chicago. Our signature discount of "15% Off All New Comics Everyday for Everyone" has been the cornerstone of savings at the store from the start. Dozens of other sales and discounts happen on daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly all year long covering all our product lines. More than just comics; we also carry: posters, games, t-shirts, action figures, statues, collecting supplies and much more. Open over 60 hours a week we cater to all ages and all tastes in comics, sci-fi/fantasy and much, much more. Alternate Reality has been a proud Mt.Greenwood business partner and community member for almost two decades and we invite you to join us the week of August the 18th when we hold our next weeklong Sale-A-Bration marking our 19th Anniversary.
