Built in the 1860's with a depth of 40-ft., the manmade reservoir is deeper than some parts of San Francisco's bay and it was originally constructed as a temporary water supply for the city. Today, the 1.58-mile trail around the reservoir is a popular spot for walkers, runners and anyone else enjoying the views around the city.
