Ensconced in pine and scrubby flat-woods, hiking here is a delight, for it is one of the few places in the country where Florida Scrub Jay can be spotted easily, owing to the vegetation. For a more brackish catch, try fishing in the picturesque South Creek, or traverse the currents on a canoe. If you want bream, bluegill or catfish for a meal, then cast your lines in Lake Osprey, for it is a freshwater lake unlike South Creek. Finally, just like most wildlife habitats in Florida, American alligators can always be found here, as well as gopher tortoises.   Be aware of the amps at the site you choose. Get a 50 amp site if you need 30 or you won’t have enough to run AC. Very easy to bike out to Casey Key. Park and facilities very clean. More
