This expansive historic site is known for its iconic live oak-lined avenue. Located approximately 10 miles (16 miles) southeast of downtown Savannah, the plantation was established in 1737 by Noble Jones, one of the first British colonists who arrived in Georgia with General James E.   Again, if you are going to be in Savannah, this is a MUST SEE! After driving in and taking LOTS of pictures, make sure to visit the cute gift shop and hike the trails. Lots of history here. More
