Buddy Guy, the guru of the electric guitar, is also the owner of this groovy club. Buddy Guy's Legends recreates the grungy feel of blues dives during the days when blues was just becoming popular. A favorite part of this bar is the hall of fame, a wall that has some of the greatest musical mementos in the city, like Grammy Awards of Muddy Waters and Buddy Guy as well as the greatest of all mementos, the collection of guitars belonging to BB King and John Lee Hooker. Therefore, this joint is much more than just a place to hang out and drink, it is a way of life, surrounded by the sweet sound of the blues and jazz. So if you're into music then this may just become your favorite watering hole!... less

Food was good (just ordered burgers & fries) but the music was a lot of fun. I don't remember his name (Mike?) but it was just him and his acoustic guitar. He played a number of songs I didn't know and a bunch of Stones, Beatles, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton songs which we did know. All of it was great. Really nice place too. I don't know what its like in the evening but lunchtime was great.... less

We bought tix well in advance and were all looking forward to it. It’s first come, first serve, seating wise and although we arrived about a half hour prior to showtime, we were hard pressed to find a table. A waitress indicated that we could sit at one of two high top tables off to the side that had “reserved” signs. I double checked with her, making sure that is was okay to sit there. She said yes. Both tables had only four chairs and we were five people. My husband grabbed an extra chair from the empty adjacent table. That’s when all hell broke loose. A different waitress forcefully pulled the chair away from my husband and then proceeded to loudly and disrespectfully admonish us for trying to sit there. Trying to ease the tension, my younger son thought he would just get a bar stool from against a wall nearby. That’s when the waitress returned with three large bouncers who got very aggressive with us. All this over an extra chair!!! The three big bouncer dudes got all up in my husbands and sons faces. It was just awful. I was on the verge of tears. I tried to dispel the tension by asking for a manager and trying to explain that we were told to sit there by a member of waitstaff; that we were just trying to have enough seats. My son offered to stand just to keep the peace. But the damage was done. We left shortly after the show started. The birthday treat of Blues music was ruined. Fear and intimidation are the rules here. Customer service is nowhere to be seen. If you want to know what it felt like as an inmate watching Johnny Cash perform at Fulsom then by all means, come here!!... less
