MoreAt Shelly Truck Driving School, we prepare students for their career in the transportation industry. Combining hands-on instruction, knowledgeable teachers with over 75 years of truck driving experience, and a cutting-edge driving simulator, our four-week program will help you pass your PennDOT CDL test and get hired as a commercial driver. In our 160 hours of supervised instruction, students learn the basics of driving a commercial vehicle. On our TransMaster Plus® driving simulator, we work on the basic skills of starting, shifting, and handling a truck. We then take our students to our school yard, where they learn parking and yard skills, including coupling and uncoupling a trailer, offset and parallel parking, backing up, and docking. Once on the road, our students are supervised as they drive the city and country roads and highways in York, Adams, Dauphin, Cumberland, and Lancaster counties. It is here that they gain confidence to drive on every type of road and in every condition, including stopping and starting on grade, highway entry and exiting, upshifting and downshifting, and driving on curves and hills.
