Row upon row of white crosses mark where 65,000 people are now interred. Many of those buried here predated California's statehood. Most impressive is the Bennington Monument, a 75 ft. obelisk commemorating the 66 crew members who died in an explosion in 1905 aboard the USS Bennington.   The ground are immaculate. The views are stunning. You can see the bay and the ocean. You might get teary eyed knowing how many people died in service to our country...of course many lived to a ripe... more
