MoreLassen Community College is a public institution open to all high school graduates and nongraduates over the age of 18. The college has an enrollment of more than 3,500 students and offers courses in art, aviation, construction technology, folk dance, forestry and geology. It offers financial aid to eligible students through grants and scholarships. It also offers correspondence courses in subjects, such as criminology, community relations, substance abuse treatment, basic mathematics, introduction to sociology and social problems. Its bookstore carries required textbooks and supplies for classes offered at the college. The college participates in intercollegiate athletics and has sports teams for basketball, wrestling, baseball, volleyball, soccer and softball.
