The museum, which originally opened in 1882, houses over six million specimens and spans three floors. The exhibits cover all seven continents and trace the origins of early civilizations. The sections devoted to the dinosaurs, to Native American history and to the history of Milwaukee are especially interesting. One other highlight is the butterfly garden, where children and adults alike will be delighted to find a room full of live butterflies! Less
