MoreNorth Park University is a liberal arts university that offers programs for graduate and under-graduate studies. Founded in 1891, the university features a long heritage as a Christian institution with its origins in the Evangelical Covenant Church. The historic structure of the first building, Old Main, a lovely Georgian Revival structure, was interestingly used to find the landing strip at Orchard Field by pilots in the 1920's as the cuppola was visible through the north side as its tallest building. The institution though remaining close to its original roots emphasizes on welcoming a diverse community of students from various backgrounds. The university offers courses in business and non-profit management, counseling, education, music and nursing in their graduate programs while undergraduate programs offer a diverse range of subjects from advertising to theater.
