The old building is also home to a museum that explores the history of the U.S. Weather Service and its significance in the Great Lakes region. Various artifacts depict the origins of the weather bureau and the efforts taken by the officials to reduce the dreadful and infamous shipwrecks on the Great Lakes. Visitors can take an immersive tour of the museum through interpretive boards, replicas of old maritime equipment, and a model of a hardhat diver. The small store at the museum offers various merchandise, clothes, books, collectibles, and other memorabilia.
