MoreFounded as a truck farm in the early 1900 s, Gertens is a full-service garden center in the Twin Cities retail community of Inver Grove Heights, Minn. Over the years, Gertens developed a reputation as a business that sold quality plants for less, with a staff that was knowledgeable about its products. In 1996, Gertens expanded its retail space to nearly 40,000 square feet. This includes a 1,500-square-foot grill zone, and 2,000-square-foot water gardening and outdoor living center. In addition to its expanded retail space, Gertens also added several greenhouses and more than 60 acres of both retail and production growing area.
