Once described by ocean explorer Jacques Cousteau as the "world's aquarium," the Gulf of California is certainly a wonder to behold. Composed of breathtaking coastlines and sparkling waters, the gulf is home to a vast array of aquatic life, from coral reefs to the tiny vaquita, which is the world's smallest porpoise, and also one of its most endangered. Other creatures, like the blue whale and humpback, come to the gulf's calm and cobalt waters to breed, while over 900 species of fish can be found amongst the waves and reefs. Visitors to the gulf will find a stunning world waiting to be explored. Snorkeling and whale watching tours all take place here, while spot fishing opportunities draw in enthusiasts from all over the world.... less
