MoreThe WYO Theater has had an eventful history, beginning in 1923, when it was opened as a vaudeville theater by the name ‘Lotus’. For the next sixty years, this theater played host to several concerts, dance shows, plays and movies, becoming an integral part of the local cultural scene. When it was closed in 1982, the community felt a void in the cultural landscape and so some of the locals came together and worked hard to bring the theater back to life. Reopened in 1989 as the WYO Theater, this venue continues to play a vital role in the community’s life, bringing some much-appreciated color and vibrancy to its cultural scene. Less
