Christopher Peter Meloni ( / məˈloʊni /; born April 2, 1961) [ 1][ 2] is an American actor and producer. He is known for playing Elliot Stabler on the NBC legal drama series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999–2011, 2021–present) and its spin-off Organized Crime (2021–present), for which he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award.
