This was an amazing, quaint zoo nestled in the heart of Staten Island. It was easy to access / park (they have a lot) and the animals were quite varied and clearly well cared for. I enjoyed, will go again, and highly recommend!! also beautiful gardens.

The Staten Island Zoo is an 8-acre (3.2 ha) urban zoo in West New Brighton, Staten Island, New York City. The zoo is open year-round except on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. It has been accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) since 1988.
The Zoo produces a robust calendar of events annually, including Staten Island’s premier Halloween event, Spooktacular, and our very popular and successful Zoofari spring and summer program.
A big portion of the zoo is dedicated to kids. They can jump around like crazy monkeys, climb all over metal tortoises, pet donkeys, feed weird looking chickens, rabbits, ride around on ponies, and stare down sheep, emus and llamas.
