Excellent film and a true portrayal of St. Francis. Having been in Assisi, this film has had a deep impact on me. Also of interest is the fact that Dolores Hart, who played St. Clare in the movie, actually became a nun, and joined the Benedictine Sisters of Regina Laudis in Bethlehem, Connecticut, in 1963, and took her final vows in 1970.
