Sep 1, 1989 · tony dorsett was great running back for the cowboys and a decent one for the broncos. his story is both well written and quite interesting. tony is an honest and outspoken man and it has gotten him in trouble over the years. i really enjoyed his insight and opinions about tom landry and the management of the cowboys both on and off the field.

The NFL player’s father was a steel mill worker, while his mother was a housewife and cared for the kids. Dorsett’s family resided in a government-funded project called Plan 11.

His final collegiate highlight was a 27-3 victory over Georgia in the Sugar Bowl to claim the national title. In 1994 Dorsett became the ninth Cowboys player inducted into the Ring of Honor, and that same year he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
