Frank Edward Thomas Jr. (born May 27, 1968), nicknamed "the Big Hurt", [1] is an American former professional baseball designated hitter and first baseman in Major League Baseball (MLB). He played for three American League (AL) teams from 1990 to 2008, all but the last three years with the Chicago White Sox .

As a Tiger, Thomas ranks second in batting average (.382), fifth in RBI (205) and third in home runs (49).
