Older Terrors is an extraordinarily epic album of gothic ethereality. Wash the Sins Not Only the Face announced Esben and the Witch as a bleak and powerful band, but much as I enjoyed songs like "No Dog" I did not feel that the follow-up A New Nature met the band's potential. There were too many aimless wandering passages.

ESBEN AND THE WITCH decided to take matters into their own hands and published Steve Albini recorded third full-length ‘A New Nature’ (2014) on their own imprint, ‘Nostromo Records’. In 2016, the band signed to Season of Mist, releasing fourth opus ‘Older Terrors’ later that year.
