The plateau of the Cristo Rei statue towers 75 meters above the Tagus. At the southern end of the Ponte 25 de Abril is our next top Lisbon attraction: the famous Cristo Rei statue. It sits on a 75-meter-high pedestal. The statue itself is 28 meters high, making it one of the tallest structures in Portugal.
Carris (Companhia de Carris de Ferro de Lisboa) is a public transportation company in Lisbon, Portugal (see Lisbon transport map). Carris operates Lisbon buses, trams, and funiculars. It does not operate the Lisbon Metro. Carris was founded September 18, 1872. A total of 234.4 million passenger boardings were recorded in 2008.
