Located on the west side of Downtown Phoenix, the Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza serves as the Legislative Governmental Mall in front of the Arizona State Capitol building. Established in 1978, it is home to many memorials representing wars, veterans, events, and people with a connection to Arizona. I really enjoyed learning the history of each one.

The plaza covers 2 sq blocks of the State Capitol grounds, is the site of 23 memorials commemorating the achievements of Governor Bolin and other prominent Arizonans. On the eastern side rests the anchor of the USS Arizona, sunk during the Japanese raid on Pearl Harbor in 1941.
