You forgot to add that even if the US government would consider shutting down bitcoin, that they can not. Bitcoin is not theirs to shut down, it is not theirs to control, it is not theirs to regulate. They can make it harder on their citizens to work with bitcoin, but they can not 'shut down' bitcoin, in no way.
