Mark Twain Lake is located in both Ralls and Monroe County of northeast Missouri and is named, of course, after the famous Missouri author. Although I am lucky enough to be just a short drive away, people are more than willing to drive here from all over, for some obvious reasons. This lake is excellent for catfish, bass and of course, crappies.
Many fishing tournaments are held at Mark Twain Lake each year. To schedule your tournament, you must contact the Mark Twain Lake Project Office to obtain a Special Use Permit and the Missouri State Water Patrol to obtain a regatta permit. South Fork Resort, located on the southwest side of Mark Twain Lake in northeast Missouri, has been serving families and sportsmen alike since 1988.
