The Pabst Mansion is a grand Flemish Renaissance Revival -styled house built in 1892 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA for Captain Frederick Pabst (1836–1904), founder of the Pabst Brewing Company.
Guided Tours. A docent-led 60-minute tour of the Pabst Mansion. Visitors learn about the Pabst Mansion, Pabst family and details about the architecture and furnishings of the home while exploring the first through third floors.
The museum opened to the public in 1978. Since that time, Pabst Mansion, Inc. has been at work to return the historic Pabst Mansion to its 1892 glory and welcome visitors from near and far to observe, learn and engage with its rich history and ornate architecture.
Featuring 37 rooms, 12 baths and 14 fireplaces, sea captain and beer baron Captain Frederick Pabst's beautiful home was built in the Flemish Renaissance style on Milwaukee's historic Grand Avenue. During docent-led tours visitors will see the first through third floors and learn about the Pabst Mansion and family.
Captain Pabst was born on March 28, 1836 in the small town of Nicholausreith, Saxony, Germany. In 1848, at the age of twelve, his parents, Fredericka and Gottlieb Pabst, made the momentous decision to immigrate to the United States and they soon settled in Chicago.
