Mar 17, 2017 · This is a director who has made his name by taking risks. By revisiting “Trainspotting,” Boyle is playing it strangely safe. His signature visual verve is there; it’s the narrative drive that’s missing. The clunkily titled “T2 Trainspotting” is in constant forward motion, though, which also makes it similar to its predecessor.
Mark Renton, deeply immersed in the Edinburgh drug scene, tries to clean up and get out, despite the allure of the drugs and influence of friends.
