Season 1 is heavily event driven. I was like you going in to the show - knew nothing about it, not even really the premise. I loved Season 1 but I adored Season 2. I read the book after watching the show. It is likely we’ll get a Season 3. The show runner and book’s coauthor (Neil Gaiman) is currently writing the scripts.
