Jan 23, 2024 · The Arc de Triomphe was inspired by the Arch of Titus in the Roman Forum in Rome. Its full official name is the Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile, the Triumphal Arch of the Star. It is located at the junction of twelve avenues which radiate from it. The Arc was built to honour the fallen in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars.
