The second son (and fourth child) of George and Louisa Benson was born June 24, 1875, and named after his father. George T. Benson Jr. loved the gospel and was always active in the Church. He married Sarah Dunkley on October 19, 1898, in the Logan Temple. The oldest of their eleven children was named after his great-grandfather Ezra Taft Benson.

Because of his hard work and integrity he became successful as a leader of men. As fate would have it, he also became well-known, but didn't let that get in the way of being himself and living according to his beliefs.
