In the movie, there is a short scene where boukareev, the elite Russian climber/guide who saved a number of climbers during the storm, enters krakouers tent and asks if he can help him rescue more people. Krakouers character says he can't as he has snow blindness and is exhausted. Krakouer claims this never happened.
