The white lantern is the symbol of life. Life doesn't have to be recharged. It either is or isn't. Considering that there is only one white lantern and he just "turns it on" there isn't really an oath. The black lanterns don't really have an oath other than rise iirc, so live would make sense for the white lanterns.
