Nancy Kwan Ka-shen (Chinese: 關家蒨; pinyin: Guān Jiāqiàn; Jyutping: Gwaan1 Gaa1sin6; born May 19, 1939) is a Hong Kong-born American actress, businesswoman and activist. She was born in British Hong Kong. Kwan was an important figure in Hollywood accepting actors of Asian ancestry.
A true Cinderella story, Nancy Kwan was "discovered" in Hong Kong by American producer Ray Stark. Although she was a dancer with the Royal Ballet in London, she had no prior acting experience.
