My opinion is that The Greatest Showman sacrificed good storytelling decisions in order to fill in the preconceived idea that a "musical" is all just extravagance and dazzle. P.S. Never Enough was the worst. Funny how they explicitly considered its genre to be an opera song when it's, like everything else, clearly a generic pop tune.
