The Model 1892 in .32 Colt caliber was originally shipped with two firing pins so that either the .32 Colt rim fire cartridge or the .32 Colt center fire cartridge could be shot in this rifle.
Marlin Rockwell M1917/M1918 versions. After Marlin started making the Colt 1914s, it developed an improved version of the M1895. In 1917 this was adopted by the US Army as a training weapon and approximately 2,500 were purchased. Besides its designation of Colt–Browning M1895/14, it was also called the "Marlin Gun" and "Model 1917".
May 18, 2009 · The Marlin 92 is chambered to take either the .32 Short Colt or .32 Long Colt cartridges, if the centerfire firing pin is installed. If the rimfire pin is installed, it will shoot the .32 Short or Long Rimfire. Of the above cartridges, only the .32 Short Colt is somewhat available. Winchester still produces it, but it's not often seen on shelves.

Sep 23, 2010 · Ultimately available in several styles and calibers (.32-40, .38-55, .40-60 and .45-70), some 20,000 were turned out before cessation of production in 1892. In the meantime, Marlin cataloged its Model 1888, which had the advantage of a shorter-throw mechanism to handle the pistol cartridges for which it was chambered: .32-20, .38-40 and .44-40.
Sep 2, 2013 · 32 colt to 32 SW for 1892 marlin. I checked with 2 local gunsmiths, and they quoted me a price of $300 to $400 to re-chamber to a 32 SW round. One was not sure he could even do it. Neither had a reamer, and were not sure they could get one. So I think that is out and will keep looking for 32 colts.
