Quesada was inspired by Stan Lee 's "Stan's Soapbox" column in classic Marvel comics and the way that the column spoke directly to fans, letting them in "behind-the-scenes" to what was going on at Marvel. Quesada used this inspiration to begin writing a column in 2009 called "Cup O' Joe," in which he would answer fan questions on any topic.
