Unfortunately now they seem to not grasp that mussels are still alive and if you shrink wrap them they die <shrug> Unless you manage to snag a package shortly after they are wrapped, you're getting dead shellfish with a high likelihood of poisoning you ...
May 21, 2024 · Purchased a 4-lb pack of fresh mussels from the seafood section at my local Costco. When I got home, I opened the bag to prepare them. Half of the mussels were slighty open/ajar and the other half were closed.
