Aug 28, 2015 · -The Mail live tile resets itself after a certain amount of time, even if you do not open the mail app. It will show unread mails, then the tile & mail counter will reset itself. The mail live tile should continue to show unread mails until you actually open the mail app (like in Windows 8.1).-Mail notifications are still sporadic at best.

If I were to guess at what you mean, I'd say you're seeing oscillating messages at the right-hand end of the status bar, and it sometimes says Updating calendar.
