Mar 27, 2024 · 2024-03-27. One of the last remaining drive-in movie theaters in northwest Ohio will reopen on May 1 once again as the Sundance Drive-In for its 75th year of operation. Located at 4500 Navarre Ave. in Oregon, the theater operated as the Parkside Drive-In last year by the nonprofit management group Save Our Screens.
The Parkside Drive-In opened on April 27, 1949, featuring “It Had To Be You” starring Ginger Rogers and Cornel Wilde. The second feature playing that evening was “Key Witness”. The drive-in got its name from being located across from Pearson Metropark in Oregon, OH. It opened as a single screen with a 622-car capacity.
