Synopsis. Penny gets sick while Willona is out of town and Florida takes her to the free clinic. The out-of-touch doctor has difficulty relating to the people in the inner-city and threatens to leave in the midst of a neighborhood health crisis.
With Penny sick and in the Evans' care, Florida finds frustration when seeking medical help.
When Willona goes out of town, she leaves Penny in Florida's care. Shortly after, Penny comes down with a virus and Florida takes her down to the free clinic to be examined. Florida quickly comes face to face with the hardnosed doctor who's out of touch with the people in the ghetto and who's also planning to leave, right in the middle of what seems to be an epidemic.
Only Penny seems to be getting weaker, but a visit to Dr. Kelly puts Florida's fears at ease, taking care of the child while Willona is out of town. When her symptoms become worse, Florida implores the reluctant doctor to make an urgent house call, which she finally does.
