A US task force has arrived to set up a colony of survivors on the Isle of Dogs. Don, one of the survivors from the original outbreak works as a caretaker at the safe zone and welcomes his two children, Tammy and Andy who had been out of the country on a school trip, back into the country.

28 Weeks Later. Twenty-eight weeks after a virus has wiped out all human life in the UK, the island is declared safe, and people start to move back, only to be attacked by thousands who have been infected by a new airborne version of the virus.
The inhabitants of the British Isles have lost their battle against the onslaught of disease, as the deadly rage virus has killed every citizen there. Six months later, a group of Americans dare to set foot on the isles, convinced the danger has come and gone.
